Named Data Networking team issues call for hacks

The Named Data Networking (NDN) project team has issued a Call for Hacks to take place at its 3rd NDN Hackathon, to be held on Nov. 4-5 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

The projects should be designed to advance the state of Named Data Networking, an emerging Internet architecture designed to better accommodate data and application access in an increasingly mobile world. Teams will have about 12 hours to work on their projects at the event.

Big name academic and vendor organizations such as Cisco and UCLA launched the NDN consortium back in 2014 to push the advanced networking architecture. A growing testbed network has been established for researchers to move NDN forward.

The NDN project team is active at conferences organized by big tech organizations such as IEEE and NIST, but will have its own NDNComm event next year on March 22-24 at the University of Memphis. An agenda for that meeting has not yet been distributed. A progress summary on the NDN Next Phase was issued in April.
