Two bands AC1300

Velop and Orbi are two models of three band mesh home wifi system, the others are two band models including this TP-link Deco M5. Deco is based on wireless AC1300 instead of AC1200 like other existing models including Luma, Google and Eero.

With Deco M5, the system delivers dual band wifi speeds of up to 867Mbps @5Ghz band and up to 400Mbps @2.4Ghz band. With the three pack, they will cover up to 4500 sq ft where each Deco M5 can cover up to 1,800 Sq ft of your home. Deco cover longer distance than Eero, and is slightly the same as Google mesh home.

TP-Link ARTTM

TP-Link ARTTM stands for Adaptive Routing Technology, a system that automatically chooses the best path for each of the device to connect to the best connection to Deco unit. It works like based on complex metric calculations in modern routing technology.

Home Care

When you compare Deco with Luma whole home wifi system regarding internet threat treatment, Luma comes with built-in hacker protection. While TP-link Deco comes with built-in Home Care powered by Trend Micro (an anti-virus and internet threat protection hat cost $360 value). It will protect all connected devices to your home network against any internet threats.

Hardware

TP-link seriously designs this Deco M5 to be able to compete with other similar products that have been around in the market for a while. The hardware is built up powered by Quad core processor, so does Luma. Eero is powered by 1.0Ghz dual core processor.

Deco M5, Google, Eero are embedded with two Gigabit Ethernet ports.
